Our theater celebrates a double anniversary this year. Alongside the joy of a quarter-century existence, we proudly note that it was exactly 10 years ago, in 2014, that we premiered our first puppet show, and puppet theater has been a constant presence at Tomcsa Sándor Színház ever since. A few years ago, our evolving puppet department was named Udvarhely Bábműhely, and we trust that many seasons and valuable programs lie ahead. This publication is closely linked to the puppet productions of the past 10 years, as most of the songs were written for various puppet shows over the years. In this way, the reader holds a festive summary in their hands. Furthermore, there is one more common point regarding these songs: the composer. Attila Pál also joined our theater 10 years ago, and since then, we have seen and heard him in numerous performances as an actor, musician, composer, or all three at once. He is the soul of this publication. Not only because, as the composer of the 11 tracks on this album, he carefully managed the musical work, but also because he envisioned the connecting story for this selection of songs from various performances. The joy of playing and making music together gathered these 12 songs. Telling stories, singing, laughing, and feeling the excitement together is a true joy, a power that sustains the soul and spirit. Therefore, with this goal in mind, we “adults,” this side of the Great Sea or beyond, play and tell stories—for we can do nothing wiser. Play with us!
